I'm trying to execute a python script by SSIS Execute Process Task. The Python script is correct. This script read data from yfinance and do some calculation, then export the calculation data into database. I need to execute this script every day. I make a batch file for execution of script file:
I used SSIS Execute SQL Task and configure properties follow:
But I received this error:
[Execute Process Task] Error: In Executing "D:....\batch_ssis.bat" "" at "", The process exit code was "9009" while the expected was "0".
That exit code 9009 comes from windows, it tries to execute batch_ssis.bat and can't resolve the information contained in the batch file
Make sure you do not have spaces in your path D:.....\ , if you do add quotations to your path so it looks like this "D:......"
Also ensure that python is installed and configured in your PATH windows environment variable so that you can call python from any directory within windows
Set FailTaskIfReturnCodeIsNotSuccessValue to False.
This worked for me today. It ignores whatever exit code the batch script returns.
In my case the expected job runs well but SSIS package failed because of the 9009 exit code returned. I still haven't figured out why.

I'm facing a slight problem with a hidden MPIRUN call inside a program called ORCA during an external call from python using subprocess.run(). I would appreciate some assistance troubleshooting.
I am using Python 3.8.3 within Jupyter Notebook 6.0.3 on Windows 10. My workflow performs an external call from python to the ORCA orca.exe program using:

NOTE: I've tried tweaking the subprocess.run() parameters, what you see is just one iteration of many. I think the fundamental issue I face is the one I describe below.
The external call essential recreates the Windows command terminal call:
c:\ORCA\orca my_inputfile.inp
(Note: I would have added > output.out if I was executing ORCA from the terminal. However, via python, I've redirected the output to a file).
The variable orcaLocationStr contains c:\ORCA\orca. The absolute path to orca.exe is required (even if it's in your PATH env variable) to use its multiprocessing capabilities.
The variable inputFileStr points to a file that contains the parameters required by ORCA. One of those parameters is the number of processes e.g., nproc 16.
All was going well until ORCA crashed. orca.exe turns out to be a wrapper to several other .exe files within the ORCA homedirectory. The nproc parameters I mentioned earlier is used so the orca.exe wrapper can execute n child processes using mpirun. That is when executing orca.exe within Python crashes and returns a non-zero value. I know this having performed some basic checks:
N processes specified in the ORCA parameter file. Calls MPIRUN.
The command will execute from the Windows command line using N processes.
The command fails when executing from Python using subprocess.run().
1 process specified in the ORCA parameter file. Does not call MPIRUN.
The command will execute from Windows command line using 1 process.
The command will execute from Python using subprocess.run().
I think it's important to be clear, it is not Python executing MPIRUN. It is an external binary called by Python that executes MPIRUN.
How can I make a Python process ready to accept multiple child processes via an external-embedded MPIRUN call?
EDIT #1 I am expecting my software to (a) perform all the preprocessing steps such as performing IO tasks etc., then (b) I want to use subprocess.run() 1600 times - as I have 1600 input files to execute. I am wondering if all else fails, whether to move just this part across to something like Bash and execute independent of Python.
I have a powershell script that I'd like to run as a SQL Agent Job.
It contains 3 lines:
Invoke-SqlCmd...
Copy-Item...
python...
The first 2 lines work flawlessly, however the job fails on the third line in which I call some python.
The powershell script works fine when run manually from the powershell ISE. I assume, and this appears to be the case from some googling that the SQL Agent doesn't like or can't run python on its own, however I would have assumed that since its all part of a powershell script I would get around that problem.
The SQL job error is:

python is not visible in the PATH for the context of the SQL Server Agent or powershell proxy account. Try invoking python using the fully qualified pathname (e.g. C:\Python37\python.exe). You may encounter further errors which you should then debug as new and separate problems.
I need some help running a python script from inside SAS. I want to take advantage of the possibility of scheduling a SAS code to run every day, I already have a script in python that manipulates everything I need to do. Is there a way to host the python script into SAS and make it run every day without the need of my pc to be turned on?
You need to verify if you have the XCMD option enabled. If it's enabled, your log will show XCMD and then you can use an X statement to run your python scripts.

Next, find the command line that you'll need to run the scripts from the command line. Then place that after an X in your code or use CALL SYSTEM() or X to execute the command. Hardest part is usually making sure the quotes are correctly resolved.

I have a python script (script A) that runs multiple sub-processes (running another python script - script B). When I run the script manually, it works fine, but when it is being run using crontab it behaves differently.
To be more specific, my script is limited to 100TB of quota, so script B runs over a tree and produce a text file of size-per-dir. This script is being run multiple times on several dir-trees as a subprocess, and the results are being further analyzed by script A.
When I run manually, both scripts run fine. But when I run it using Cron, script A runs fine but script B produce odd resutls.
Any ideas of why using Cron would affect a python script?
Make sure the crontab you are using is with full path of the .sh file.
And in beginning of your script try to add the following:
. /home/gemapp/.bash_profile
to load all needed items in bash_profile.
The default directory for any scheduled job is user's home dir, not the location of the shell script/program itself.
To mimic the crontab job, you must simulate running your script from user's home dir using "cd ~" command. Run your job using the exact same syntax as in your "crontab -l" output to simulate the error.
In other word, you must simulate running your schedule job from home dir. Once it worked, then you put it into the crontab.
I'm attempting to run a Python script using an Informatica command task to scrape data from the web. Each time I start the workflow I get the error:

I'm using the hash-bang: #!C\Python27\python.exe as the first line in the code, and the command I'm issuing is:
C\Python27\python.exe C\Documents\Python\Test_Scrape.py
Why do I continuously get this error?
I have found and fixed the problem. For those wishing to do something similar: either wrap the command in a batch or powershell file, or ensure that the python version installed has been added to the PATH.
