I received a code which uses matplotlib, I already installed it like here in console (in Git Bash) and searched for matplotlib under settings - modules, but found just two other and installed them (aliasimports/live coding in python). I still become this error:
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'matplotlib'
In Pycharm File -> View -> Tools Windows -> Python packages
It will list all installed packages, search for Matplotlib and install it.
If you are running in terminal:
python -m pip install matplotlib
If on unix:
locate your python, which python
python_path/bin/python -m pip install matplotlib
If you are using python2, without pip. Install it
wget https://bootstrap.pypa.io/get-pip.py
After saving above file, run
python get-pip.py
Now run pip install command.
If your script is using shebang, do include this line at top of your file
#!/path/to/your/path/binary
before using any library in python you need to install it. for installation there are different methods(depend on OS) but simple way is PIP INSTALL PKG_NAME

I am having an issue to work with the lib pdf2docx.
Here is the code I am trying to work

I have installed the lib using pip install pdf2docx and I have tried as well to use sudo.
I tried to use as venv like:
create a folder
inside this folder, open your command line(cmd)
pip install virtualenv
virtualenv venv
pip install pdf2docx
Any idea about how I can make the script working?
Require Python >= 3.6. pdf2docx can be installed through:
python3 -m pip install pdf2docx
I just solved the issue, it looks like I am unable to run the script using Vstudio. The script works using the command line like python3 pdf_to_docx.py.
I am trying to run some code that has 'import websocket' however I am getting the error: ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'websocket'
I have Python 3.7.3 and I am running in Spyder (if that makes a difference).
So from other questions/answers I found on here, in my cmd I ran pip install websocket and then also pip install websocket-client when the first one didn't run.
I am still getting the ModuleNotFoundError. Does it matter the location/folder of the code or where I install the pip command in cmd?
My python code starts with these import statements:

Not sure, as you did not cover how you installed and are using Spyder, though I think it is probably an issue with your environment. You might also find that you are missing the module "helper" as well. There's two easy options as follows:
If you installed and are using Spyder via conda or anaconda, follow their documentation on installing websocket-client to the correct environment found here.
The second option (the preferred option IMHO, as you can use any IDE or text editor going forward), regardless of how you installed Spyder, would be to create a python virtual environment python3 -m venv /path/to/new/virtual/environment, pip install all your dependencies in said environment, then link Spyder's interpreter to the interpereter that was installed when you made the environment. In Spyder, go to Tools -> Preferences -> Python interpreter -> check the "Use the following Python interpreter:" radio button and enter the path to the interpreter from the environment you just created. For reference, see docs on making and using a python venv here.
If the websocket and websocket-client doesn't work, try:
pip install websocket_client
This solved my issue:
sudo pip install websocket-client
I downloaded multiple modules (Discord API, cx_Freeze) (pip download, Windows 10) and now I wanted to use them.
But when I want to import them, it says there isn’t any module.
From my former Python using (before resetting computer) I‘ve added a pycache folder and it worked for one module. I‘m not able to reproduce it for other modules. What to do?
I‘ve only one Python version (3.6.5) on PC.
I‘ve checked the \site-packages folder and they‘re there.
If you are using python3 then try downloading the library using
pip3 install libname
but if you are using python2 then install the library using
pip2 install libname or just pip install libname
try with these command and reply
try installing your library using the command prompt in normal user and with the admin user so that you will get to know that what is happening and also if it is still not working then try installing the library into the same folder of your project using pip custom install command
pip install -t <direct directory> <package>
then use the import statement
For Example I used
pip2 install -t c:\Users\Nav\Desktop\projectss cx_freeze
then i imported the library using
#from cx_Freeze import setup, Executable
import cx_Freeze
from cx_Freeze import *
it worked.
Previously i was getting error like :

I wrote myself a handy bash script, which solves the task of creating a virtualenv with its own compiled virtualenv and python. It aims at creating a mostly self contained virtualenv, with maybe only native libraries installed in system level if necessary, but installing all python packages and virtualenv and pip and such things inside the virtualenv.

Given the required packages for compiling python and virtualenv are installed on the system, the script creates a nice virtualenv. However, when I try to access any installed modules/packages from within the virtualenv, python is not able to find them. To demonstrate this, I'll put some output of commands and code here:
First of all of course I have to activate the virtualenv:

Hm the packages are there, so why can't python find them? Let's see where those packages are located, simply by trying to remove one:

Another attempt on finding out if python looks in the right places:

So this one indicates it does not look in the right place, if I understand correctly.
Note:
The script does the following things, which might not be obvious:
compile python with a prefix (local python)
compile virtualenv for the local python
it aliases pip to the local pip of the version of the installed python
it aliases virtualenv to the locally installed one
it installs packages from pypi if specified
it updates the local pip if there is a newer version available
I am a beginner still at writing bash scripts, so I think the structure and logic of the script is fairly easy to understand. It also prints information about success of its operations in the terminal.
Further Notes:
I did not use su or sudo to run the script.
My OS is a Fedora 22, although I think in this case any major distro would work the same way.
OS has been updated recently.
Question: So why can't Python find them / its own packages? (What do I need to change?)
can you try to compare path to pyhton and pip in your script and manually in your system:
which python and which pip?
After that check pip freeze | grep pandas it should return you package ...if no you need to add this package to site-packages folder of you python.
I have recently started using Python 3.5 and Anaconda on my Windows pc. I am trying to plot a map. However, When I am in my Jupyter notebook and i type the command
import mpl_toolkits.basemap
I get an error message saying 'no module name' 'mpl_toolkits.basemap'
However, I have the module downloaded and in the same C:\Users\Geena file as my .matplotlib, .ipython, .jupyter files, etc.
Anyone know how I can fix this?
I've had this issue with anaconda on my windows 7.
I found the way to fix it with python 3.5:
You need to run with administrator rights "Anaconda Prompt" and in "Anaconda Prompt" run following command:
conda install -c conda-forge basemap-data-hires=1.0.8.dev0
, it will show new packages that you need to install and will ask you to install it - say 'Yes'.
After that new packages will be installed and the issue "import mpl_toolkits.basemap" will be fixed.

Currently, basemap is not compatible with python 3 for windows users. So, if you try conda install basemap and you have python 3 installed in windows, you'll see a message pointing out that a conflict was found with python 3.
I solved this by installing a python 2.7 environment. Try this:

Then you just activate the python 2 environment. For example: activate py27 (py27 is the identifier of my python 2.7 environment).
After that, you can run conda install basemap with no conflict.
I'm using python 3.6.4 on Windows 7 Family Premium (32bit).
Because I was a bit frustrated by the message "no module named 'mpl_toolkits.basemap'", I searched for and tried a dozen of solutions without success : various versions, building from source, problems with VS version, nmake, ... You all know what I mean ;-)
I finally found a quite simple solution that works perfectly well for me :-) Here it is !
from here I downloaded basemap‑1.1.0‑cp36‑cp36m‑win32.whl
I changed the current dir to my download dir
I installed the wheel with python -m pip basemap‑1.1.0‑cp36‑cp36m‑win32.whl
I did the same for matplotlib‑2.2.3‑cp36‑cp36m‑win32.whl
You DO read the versions correctly : matplotlib 2.2.3 and basemap 1.1.0
Everything works fine for me and I finally can plot OSM POI's on a map of Belgium, without any 'trickery' at import :

When you have Anaconda, you don't download modules anywhere. In your command prompt, you type
conda install basemap
and it is installed with all its dependencies.
Anaconda requires an unusual install command for basemap 1.0.7.

To install this package with conda run:
conda install -c https://conda.anaconda.org/anaconda basemap
I just had this issue as well. All you need to do is update matplotlib by doing the following:
pip install --upgrade matplotlib
mpl_toolkits is part of matplotlib and just needs to be updated.
If you're using anaconda, the easiest thing to do is described here: in the conda prompt (as admin), type conda install -c anaconda basemap.
