Need to Install PyOpenGL (Windows) - python

I am trying to install PyOpenGL using pip on Windows 10.
I have tried to install it using pip install PyOpenGL and it tells me that it has installed it successfully but when I try to use PyOpenGL in python, it tells me that I do not have a module named PyOpenGL. Do you know what the problem is?

Go to Unofficial Windows Binaries for Python Extension Packages
Download a 32 bit or 64 bit package for PyOpenGL provides bindings to OpenGL, GLUT, and GLE
(e.g.
PyOpenGL-3.1.5-cp38-cp38-win_amd64.whl and
PyOpenGL_accelerate-3.1.5-cp38-cp38-win_amd64.whl)
Open Command Prompt (cmd.exe) as administrator. Change to the download directory and install the packages by pip install packagename.whl.
e.g:
pip install PyOpenGL-3.1.5-cp38-cp38-win_amd64.whl
and
pip install PyOpenGL_accelerate-3.1.5-cp38-cp38-win_amd64.whl
If the package is already installed, but doesn't work, then you have to ignore the currently installed package, by the option --ignore-installed:
pip install --ignore-installed PyOpenGL-3.1.5-cp38-cp38-win_amd64.whl
pip install --ignore-installed PyOpenGL_accelerate-3.1.5-cp38-cp38-win_amd64.whl

Use Anaconda package manager in Winpython

I'm using Winpython to do a project but i'm struggling to install a package with pip. This package is easily installed using "conda install" in my Anaconda. I would like to know if there is some way to use the conda package manager in Winpython (i.e install package using conda install in Winpython)

$ pip install Pillow
Error: 'pip' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
I'm doing this in the command prompt on windows.
Official documentation for installing pip can be found here.
In short, you can download get-pip.py from here (right-click the link and then choose Save link as...). Then you can navigate in the command prompt to the directory you downloaded get-pip.py to.
Once you've done that, you can install pip for just your user with
python get-pip.py --user
If you want to install pip system-wide, you need to use an Administrator command prompt, and run
python get-pip.py
Then you can install Pillow with
python -m pip install Pillow
You need to install pip, to be able to download packages.
Installing pip
Pip is the package installer for Python and is required to install Python Packages.
If you are using Python 3.4 onwards, then pip should come pre-installed.
If you are using a version of Python 3 older than Python 3.4, then the official pip install instructions can be found here
Note: you can find out what version of Python you are running by typing python --version in the terminal
To check if pip is installed, run pip help in the terminal.
Installing the pillow package
Once you have pip installed, you can now install the pillow package. This is as simple as typing pip install pillow into your terminal.
Once you've done this, you will successfully have the pillow package installed for Python.
First run:
python
if it says that it can't recognize the command, it means you haven't installed python properly on your system. Install it using this guide
If python is installed, run this to install pip:
sudo apt-get install python-pip
Finally, try installing pillow again. It will probably work now.

Failed building wheel for Twisted in Windows 10 python 3

I'm trying to install rasa-core on my windows 10 machine.
When installing with pip install, I get: Failed building wheel for Twisted
The same error appears when trying to install Twisted separately.
How could I solve this problem?
Download the .whl file from Unofficial Windows Binaries for Python Extension Packages
then after you are in the virtualenv
pip install C:\...yourpath...\Downlaods\<filename>
e.g.

How can I install NumPy on Windows using 'pip install'?

I want to install NumPy using the pip install numpy command, but I get the following error:
RuntimeError: Broken toolchain: cannot link a simple C program
I'm using Windows 7 32 bit, Python 2.7.9, pip 6.1.1 and some MSVC compiler. I think it uses the compiler from Visual C++ 2010 Express, but actually I'm not sure which one, because I have several Visual Studio installations.
I know that there are prebuilt packages for Windows, but is there some way to do it just by typing pip install numpy?
I think that there could be other packages which must be compiled before usage, so it's not only about NumPy. I want to solve the problem with my compiler, so I could easily install any other similar package without necessity to search for prebuilt packages (and hope that there are some at all).
Check the installation of Python 2.7, and then install/reinstall pip which is described here. Then a open command line windows and write:
pip install numpy
Or
pip install scipy
If already installed, try this:
pip install -U numpy
Installing extension modules can be an issue with pip. This is why Conda exists. Conda is an open-source BSD-licensed cross-platform package manager. It can easily install NumPy.
Two options:
Install Anaconda here
Install Miniconda here and then go to a command line and type conda install numpy (make sure your PATH includes the location Conda was installed to).
Frustratingly, the NumPy package published to PyPI won't install on most Windows computers: Windows wheel package (.whl) on Pypi #5479

Install miniconda (here)
After installed, open Anaconda Prompt (search this in Start Menu)
Write:
pip install numpy
After installed, test:
import numpy as np
First go through page Download Python to download Python 3.6.1 or 2.7.13 either of your choice. I preferred to use Python 2.7 or 3.4.4.
Now after installation, go to the folder name python27 or python34, and click on the script. Now here open the command prompt by left clicking and Run as administrator.
After the command prompt appears, write "pip install numpy" there. This will install the latest version of NumPy and installing it will show a success comment. That's all.
Similarly, Matplotlib can be installed by just typing "pip install matplotlip". And now if you want to download SciPy, then just write "pip install scipy" and if it doesn't work then you need to download Python SciPy from SciPy: Scientific Library for Python and install it.

I decided in a very unexpected way. I just opened the command line as an administrator. And then typed:

How do I install Python libraries in wheel format?

I was looking for a tutorial on how to install Python libraries in the wheel format.
It does not seem straightforward so I'd appreciate a simple step by step tutorial how to install the module named "requests" for CPython.

You want to install a downloaded wheel (.whl) file on Python under Windows?
Install pip on your Python(s) on Windows (on Python 3.4+ it is already included)
Upgrade pip if necessary (on the command line)
pip install -U pip
Install a local wheel file using pip (on the command line)
pip install --no-index --find-links=LocalPathToWheelFile PackageName
Option --no-index tells pip to not look on pypi.python.org (which would fail for many packages if you have no compiler installed), --find-links then tells pip where to look for instead. PackageName is the name of the package (numpy, scipy, .. first part or whole of wheel file name). For more informations see the install options of pip.
You can execute these commands in the command prompt when switching to your Scripts folder of your Python installation.
Example:
cd C:\Python27\Scripts
pip install -U pip
pip install --no-index --find-links=LocalPathToWheelFile PackageName
Note: It can still be that the package does not install on Windows because it may contain C/C++ source files which need to be compiled. You would need then to make sure a compiler is installed. Often searching for alternative pre-compiled distributions is the fastest way out.

On windows there is a site for Unofficial Windows Binaries for Python Extension Packages that have huge python packages and complied python packages for windows.
For example to install pip using this site, just download and install setuptools and pip installer from that.
To install wheel packages in python 2.7x:
Install python 2.7x (i would recommend python 2.78) - download the appropriate python binary for your version of windows . You can download python 2.78 at this site https://www.python.org/download/releases/2.7.8/
-I would recommend installing the graphical Tk module, and including python 2.78 in the windows path (environment variables) during installation.

First you have to install the module

For this part you have to check for the documentation.
Install distribute by downloading and running distribute_setup.py. This will make easy_install available, and from there you can install pip with easy_install pip. Then you can run pip install CAGE. Using pip to install things is a lot easier than messing with manually running setup.py, because pip can do things like:
automatically resolve dependencies
show you a list of all installed packages and their versions
install a set of specified packages from a requirements.txt
upgrade and uninstall packages

If you're on Windows, the one downside of pip occurs when there are C library dependencies, as pip will want a C toolchain installed so it can compile things. If that is the case, then there are two options. If there are precompiled binaries on PyPI, then just run easy_install package instead; easy_install knows how to use binary packages. You can also check Christoph Gohlke's site for executable installers of many binary packages. These can also be installed by easy_install if you want to use them with a virtualenv (just point it to the path of the .exe) or you can click and run if you don't care about virtualenv.
The main point is that no matter what route you choose to install packages, at no point are you ever moving around files by hand. You need to get out of the mindset of "I extracted this archive, where do I put these .py files?" That's not how it works. You're either running pip, running easy_install, running setup.py, clicking on an installer package, or using your distribution's installer. At no point are you ever doing anything by hand with the files directly.
Once you have a library downloaded you can execute this from the MS-DOS command box:
python setup.py install
The setup.py is located inside every library main folder.
For windows, there are automatic installer packages available at this site
It includes most of the python packages.
But the best way for it is of course using pip.
You don't need to download exclusively from the website. Just make sure you have pip (which you probably will if you have python installed). Just open your Command Prompt (CMD) and run the command:
pip install pygame
It will automatically download the correct whl version of pygame compatible with your configuration of PC. Make sure you remember the version which appears while "downloading" as this is the compatible version of .whl packages you shall be looking for in the future.
Simple steps to install python in Ubuntu:
Download Python
$ cd /usr/src
$ wget https://www.python.org/ftp/python/3.6.0/Python-3.6.0.tgz
Extract the downloaded package
$ sudo tar xzf Python-3.6.0.tgz
