Error installing Python 2 via Homebrew on MacOS Mojave - python

I'm having a lot of trouble with installing Python 2.7 on the MacOS 10.14 Mojave Beta.
Yes, I know that Python 2 comes pre-installed on the Mac, but I need a framework build of Python for my task.
I've tried re-installing the command line tools and then installing Python 2.7 as suggested here and here, but am still having issues - below is my output:

EDIT Please don't suggest Anaconda! For what I'm working on, I specifically need a framework built version of Python via Brew.
EDIT 2 - I tried reinstalling Sphinx, which happened with no problems. Upon doing that, I tried running install python#2 again, but had the same issue as before.
Below is the output of running brew doctor
NickLaptop:~ nicholasarner$ brew doctor

Warning: "config" scripts exist outside your system or Homebrew directories.
`./configure` scripts often look for *-config scripts to determine if
software packages are installed, and what additional flags to use when
compiling and linking.
Having additional scripts in your path can confuse software installed via
Homebrew if the config script overrides a system or Homebrew provided
script of the same name. We found the following "config" scripts:

I had the same problem.
I was able to fix it by completely uninstalling and reinstalling Python after following step by step in this answer: How to fix broken python 2.7.11 after OSx updates
After the reinstallation the problem was gone

As I read you output - this is not a problem with python directly it is a problem with sphinx which builds the docs. I would go for the following steps:
brew update && brew upgrade
brew install sphinx (maybe this gives a better error message or solves the problem if sphinx is installed before)
brew reinstall python#2
If this is not working: Did you reinstalled the commandline tools after upgrading to mac os 10.14? (xcode-select --install). If not installed/updated before do it and retry.
If this all is not working could you please execute brew doctor and post the output so we can better see whats going on with your homebrew instane?
Maybe it could be a option to make an roll back to a stable version of Mac OS (10.13) ?

I'd suggest you used the Anaconda Distribution of python. Anaconda offers both python 2.7 and python 3.6 with easy to use python installers for both versions. The Anaconda page explains how to install and run python on your mac.

missing packages in mobaxterm apt-get session

When attempting to install Python in MobaXterm, two packages are not found in the local repository. I have found at least one of them in an external repository and I would like to configure my terminal to use another repository beside the one indicated in the example directory tree as follows:
http://mirrors.kernel.org/sourceware/cygwin/release/cygwin-devel
Either that or I would like to change the package version to one that exists in this location, but then I worry about package versioning issues.
Or a third option would be to download the packages I find in the other locations and install them using the same terminal I used to install the other Python packages.
Here are the two packages with issues:

Thanks in advance for any insights that might lead me to resolve this and have a clean Python installation.
I found a workaround - hopefully. In essence, the setup.ini file on the repository references a version of the packages that actually does not exist on that repository. After reading up on apt-get I learned that I could pass a legacy flag to get an earlier version of the package installed:
[micro.MSI] ➤ apt-get install --legacy libexpat1
Found package libexpat1
Installing libexpat1
Downloading libexpat1-2.2.0-0.tar.xz...
Unpacking libexpat1-2.2.0-0.tar.xz...
Extracting dependencies for usr/bin/cygexpat-1.dll...
Package libexpat1 requires the following packages, installing cygwin
Package cygwin is already installed, skipping
Package libexpat1 installed.
Rebasing new libraries
This might introduce versioning issues, but the dependency was already there, as it should be since it was installed in the earlier python installation. Now I can see if I can get the other modules installed for my project.
If anyone else has advice about this package management issue, please chime in. I am wondering if I should notify the source repository owners about their setup.ini file pointing to versions that do not exist.

Answer in detailed direction will be appreciated as I am just a beginner having tons of stuff to learn from you.
Really frustrated by now.

Unable to load mod_wsgi: Symbol not found: __Py_FalseStruct

I'm trying to install mod_wsgi (3.4) on my mac (mountain lion), I followed all the instructions here: http://code.google.com/p/modwsgi/wiki/InstallationInstructions but I'm unable to load that module due to the following error:
httpd: Syntax error on line 119 of /private/etc/apache2/httpd.conf: Cannot load /usr/libexec/apache2/mod_wsgi.so into server: dlopen(/usr/libexec/apache2/mod_wsgi.so, 10): Symbol not found: __Py_FalseStruct\n Referenced from: /usr/libexec/apache2/mod_wsgi.so\n Expected in: flat namespace\n in /usr/libexec/apache2/mod_wsgi.so
the message above is displayed by testing apache modules with:
apachectl -M
I have the default python mac install (2.7) plus the latest 3.3 manually installed using the dedicated dmg, when I ran ./configure I tried by specifying both versions and adding the flag --disable-framework (which honestly I don't know what it does, but I found it mentioned in other discussions).
I'm stuck... what should I do?
UPDATE:
I configured mod_wsgi (with default python 2.7) by running:
make distclean
./configure
make
sudo make install
anyway I would like to use python 3.3, and fix the error I reported above
mod_wsgi is a pain to install if you don't really know the bits and pieces that go along with it. At a guess, I'd say it has something to do with shared python libraries .Can I recommend using the homebrew package manager instead?
It's fairly straight forward installing brew, but installing mod_wsgi isn't anymore.
brew tap homebrew/apache
brew install mod_wsgi
Then follow the instructions after it completes. You'll have to change the directory where mod_wsgi is installed to.
A warning about homebrew though, you need to make sure you've got the latest version of XCode installed, or at least the xcode command line tools. Homebrew is great though.

Cannot easy_install readline for Python 2.7.3 on Mac Os Lion

I am trying to install the python readline module. I have already installed readline via homebrew.
If I type
easy_install readline
I get

Any ideas about how I could fix this ?
Thanks
There is a new solution to this problem in Pypi, pip install gnureadline.
https://pypi.python.org/pypi/gnureadline
The root issue is libedit (BSD-licensed) vs. Gnu Readline (GPL-licensed) . Apple would rather provide incompatible BSD code, than provide compatible code that has GPL restrictions.
This bug should be fixed in readline version 6.2.4 released last week.
Also note that you do not need to install the readline library itself via homebrew. It is already included within the python readline module.
Anyone having problems with the python-readline module is welcome to open an issue on the GitHub page of the module. This will ensure that the problem is permanently solved for everyone.
I had this same problem in OS X Lion 10.8, and fixed it by renaming my /Developer to /Developer-old. See this issue.
None of the above worked from me.
After uninstall ipython and readline, I ran the following that finally worked
easy_install http://pypi.python.org/packages/source/r/readline/readline-6.1.0.tar.gz
pip install ipython
And yes, readline 6.1.0 is an old one, but 6.2.x or other would not work (in sept 2013).
Try installing the binary egg directly:
$ easy_install http://pypi.python.org/packages/2.7/r/readline/readline-6.2.2-py2.7-macosx-10.7-intel.egg#md5=25383d860632d4a1521961ba68a52fe2
Make sure you have gcc installed.
which gcc
should return
/usr/bin/gcc
I was getting the same error when trying to easy_install readline. It wasn't until I downloaded the tar and tried to manually build it that I noticed it said
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... no
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cl.exe... no
configure: error: in `/Users/roneill/readline-6.2.4.1/rl/readline-lib':
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
See `config.log' for more details.
that I realized what the actual problem was. I had not used this particular laptop in a while and had not used Xcode to install the command line tools. Once I did, things worked properly.
