Kivy: How set up item Drop-Down - python

I need to set up dynamically list in Drop-Down. For setting I want to use constructor of class DiscDropDown, which is decendant of class DropDown. (It means, that want to set up value for variable li_disc in class DiscDropDown). Instance of this class is not part of python code, because I use Builder.
How do I realize it in next code?

Adding HoverBehavior to existing kivy code

I'm very new to Kivy, and even python so I dont have the best of skills. I have a .py file to run everything from my .kv file. I want to add an effect where a widget is highlighted when you hover on it. I found some stuff on github, changed it up to what I want but I cant figure out how to put it in my original and make it work for what I already had. So basically I need help putting the hover stuff into my python file. Its probably an easy answer but again, I'm new to this...

If your HoverLabel code is in a file named hoverlabel.py in the same folder as your current python file, you can just add:

Kivy - duplicate class instance on super()

Immediately after the super() function is called, it creates a duplicate WidgetClass instance.
My understanding of the super() I've used is that it refers to the EditImageLayout class to inherit from. To this end I've tried to implement different variations of the super() but admittedly I'm only guessing at this stage.

What I suspect is happening is that the super() is calling the base class EditImageLayout, the static elements of that base class are calling the .kv file and initating the ImageLayout and CoreImage classes from there. At the same time, "self" goes into action and does the exact same thing. This causes trouble later on when I implement on_touch_down over it (on_touch_down then appears twice, etc. )

Root Cause
The double calls to ImageLayout and CoreImage were due to two kv files, App_R3.kv and app_r3.kv present as shown in the screen shots below. In the application, the app class is App_R3App(App): and it is using Builder.load_file('App_R3.kv') to load kv code into application.
Solution
Remove kv file, app_r3.kv. In the example, we renamed it to app_r3-off.kv

There are two ways to load Kv code into your application:
By name convention:
Kivy looks for a Kv file with the same name as your App class in
lowercase, minus “App” if it ends with ‘App’ e.g:
MyApp -> my.kv
If this file defines a Root Widget it will be attached to the App’s
root attribute and used as the base of the application widget tree.
By Builder:
You can tell Kivy to directly load a string or a file. If this string
or file defines a root widget, it will be returned by the method:
Builder.load_file('path/to/file.kv')
or:
Builder.load_string(kv_string)
Recommendations
Since class rule, <MyScreenManager>: is defined in your kv file, you should use it rather than define sm = ScreenManager() in your Python code. On top of that, keep the view/design separate.

Why is Image not shown properly as a Button background in Kivy?

The problem is that I'm trying to make "clickable image", but when I append widget to the button, image is on the default position (0,0), totally out of the button position. Is there any workaround how to do it?

In kv languaje properties used in the expression (x:, y:, width:) will be observed. When the parent's size/pos change, child widget change accordingly. You must suply this event bindings in the Python class:

How to Bind Changes From One ListView to Another in Kivy

What I am trying to achieve is when I click on an entry in BoxLayoutForEmails it would change and show appropriate groups in GroupListView
I was trying to access the view GroupsListView through id to get my hands on the adapter instantiated within it dynamically, but to no avail.
So I need either: access the email_address_clicked() somehow or to find another way of doing it.
Any suggestions are highly appreciated.

groups_view doesn't exist yet in BoxLayoutForEmails constructor, so don't access it's properties directly. Use a function so it is accessed only after there is a click (it will be created by then):

list_adapter.bind(on_selection_change=lambda *x: groups_view.list_adapter.email_address_clicked())
...
You can use a lambda or a class method.

Kivy: Self-updating label text

Let's say I have 3 classes: a "woking class" where stuff takes place, a label class and a class to contain them.
For example the label class could be a status bar showing the status of something going on the working class. I wish I could find a way to make the label self-update the value to show, since this value is a value of the working class being changed inside the latter.

Is there a way of doing it with properties or whatever? Becouse I don't want to need to manually update (sommehow) the label each time I change the value. Anyway to achieve this?
You're updating a property on WorkingClass, but that doesn't update the value on CustomLabel since you did a direct assignment instead of binding it. But yes, you can use Propertys to make everything work automatically.
In WorkingClass:
class WorkingClass(BoxLayout):
a = NumericProperty()
def __init__(self, **kwargs): ...
This makes a into a Property which you can bind to.
Then in MainLayout's constructor:
self.workingClass = WorkingClass()
self.customLabel = CustomLabel(value=self.workingClass.a)
self.workingClass.bind(a=self.customLabel.setter('value'))
The last line says: "when the value of property a on self.workingClass changes, set the value property of self.customLabel to the same value"
Alternatively, you could just add the Property to WorkingClass above, then get rid of MainLayout's constructor and use kv instead:
