Screwed up pip, getting "ImportError: Entry point ('console_scripts', 'pip') not found"

Somehow I screwed up my install of pip. I can't install anything using pip or even just get the version. When I try getting the version I get the following error:

I found a Stack Overflow post that said I should re-install pip using: python -m pip install --upgrade --force-reinstall pip but when I do that I get:

And of course trying to reinstall python using: brew install python gets me:

So as you can see I am bit stuck. I'm sure it is something simple that I am missing but I can't figure our what it is. Does anyone know how I can get my pip back & working? At this point I might also be interested in nuking my Python 2.7 install & starting again from scratch if that is possible. Thanks in advance.

Import error while trying to run jupyter notebook

I'm trying to run jupyter notebook using anaconda (git bash platform), and as I type in jupyter notebook, an import error occurs every time. I tried to lauch it inside an environment, but the same error occured.

I found a similar issue open on GitHub for zmq. The recommendation by GitHub user harsh23tyagi that seems to work for most is to run the following:
pip uninstall pyzmq
pip install pyzmq

Working with conda env, jupyter notebook worked in (base) env but gave the .libzmq error in (my_env).
To be able to run notebooks from my_env, this worked for me :
pip uninstall pyzmq
pip install pyzmq==20 (no version for pyzmq didn't fix the issue for me)

It seems that updating pyzmq to the latest version fixes this problem for me.
conda install pyzmq=22

I have been researching and trying to troubleshoot this issue and I have not been able to narrow down the issue.
Just prior to noticing this issue I had updated my debian system using the standard repository and had no issues of note, I had also updated a few pip modules using pip3 install --update, I believe the modules I had updated were scapy and requests
I am unable to use pip for any command that I have tried, even "pip list" or any version of pip through 3.6.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled pip, virtualenv, and tried to manually remove the six.add_metaclass-1.0* folder from my distutils folder.
Nothing I have tried has created any change that I can see and I am not able to narrow down that any issue that I see written about is indeed similar or related to this specific issue.
I am hoping to find help to narrow this problem down further, correct it or be pointed in the direction of any information that could help me.

six 1.3.0 doesn't have add_metaclass. It was released in 2013 year. Really time to upgrade it.

I found the answer to my issue. Apparently some linux versions have specific versions of pip and six that have to be installed through the distro package manager directly in order to work. There are some nuanced changes in how Debian makes use of pip, especially regarding updates, and they have coded these changes in to their package manager and not to pip. When I recompiled Python I had uninstalled the entire python framework and I went to the source url's to recombine python and to download pip and any other dependencies. I figured since I was installing directly from the source that it would be fine... If you are using CentOS, Debian,Redhat and maybe others, then you must install pip from the package manager that is managed by your distro in order to avoid running into this error somewhere down the line.

1) Go to the directory where your python is installed. (In my case it's C:\Users...\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python36-32)
2) Find the directory called "Scripts"
3) Hold down SHIFT and right-click on that folder. Then click "Open command window here"
4) A command prompt window will pop up. Type pip install <packagename> and press ENTER.
This method works for me when I install packages for my python through pip. Hope it helps you.

Error In Spyder After Anaconda Install

I just installed Anaconda. I already had Spyder 3.0.0 installed on my Windows 8.1 (64 bit). I also already had Python 3.4 installed. But, after installing Anaconda, I went into Preferences and pointed the Python executable to the Anaconda3 folder to utilize the 3.5 version. But when I started up Spyder again, got the following error:

Any ideas?

Suggestion:
rename your directory "C:\WinPython-64bit-3.4.4.2" in "C:\WinPython-64bit-3.4.4.2bis"
relaunch your Anaconda Spyder
if it doesn't help, rename it back to "C:\WinPython-64bit-3.4.4.2"
