one way UDP communication - python

I am trying to establish UDP conection between 2 of my computers (1 and 2).
I succeeded in establish UDP connection in which computer 1 is the client ("sending") and computer 2 is the server ("reciving").
Now I am trying to do the opposite: I want computer 2 to be the client and computer 1 to be the server. I am using the same programs as I have written before, however it doesn't work.
When I use Wireshark, I can see the sended messeges from computer 2, however the python doesn't recive them...
Any Ideas?

I have tried to use TCP and it still dosent work. It seemes that one of my computers refuses to recive it's messges in python... any sugesstions?

How can i connect two computers with python socket?

im new here!
I have a problem with connection between two computers connected with different wi-fi's. After about 20 seconds i get information that connection can't be done.

Likely you are experiencing an issue because your server sits behind a Network Address Translator (NAT). This way your client cannot use the server's IP directly since it is not reachable. There are a few ways around it.
The easiest and not very practical one is: get both machines in the same network, then it should work.
Get a public IP address for the server. You can do that by hosting it on a cloud server that provides you with a public IP, e.g., aws, azure, google cloud etc.
In the old days we used hamachi to get a VPN that would connect both machines. Then they can identify each other over that VPN. Simply turn on hamachi (or any other VPN solution), run your server, then from your client (connected to the VPN), use the VPN's server IP (hamachi will provide you with one when you setup a network).
Disclaimer: I have not used hamachi in about 15 years, but just went through the process because of one of the comments below.
Seems like you can create an account, then once you turn it on you should see your v4 and v6 addresses as shown below:
Highlighted is my v4 address. I suspect you need to create a network, join both PCs in the same network and then use hamachi's IP to emulate behaviour as if they were connected via LAN.
So I faced the similar problem while sending image files between 2 computers using python sockets. I solved the issue by following this way:
First I completed writing the connection code of both server.py and client.py
Note: server.py should be in one computer and client.py should be in another computer.

Now you should add the image in the directory where client.py is located, so that you can send it to another computer (server). Rename it to img.jpg
Then, you need to run server.py in your another computer. It will print the hostname in terminal. Then copy that hostname and paste it in client.py (server_host = hostname_from_server)
Then run client.py
Finally the image will be transferred to new computer (server)

A request to send or receive data was disallowed because the socket is not connected in Python

I'm trying to make a console chat app in python using socket library.
Whenever I send a message to the server, the server code crashes with the following message:

What I am trying to achieve is whenever I send a message to the server, the client script should print the sent message. How can I fix that?
You're attempting to send data to your own server socket. You instead want to send to the client that you accepted.
socket.send(data)
Should be:
conn.send(data)
If you think about it, if you had multiple clients, how would you send data to a specific client? By using the socket that accept gave you.
As a side note, you probably don't want to import the module as socket, and also call your variable socket. It's fine here, but if you were to make a more complicated project, you may accidentally refer to the object when you meant to refer to the module. I'd rename the socket object to sock or server_socket to avoid shadowing.

binding a UDP port and listening for connections

When I try to ping a Minecraft server via LAN, the documents say the following:
In Singeplayer there is a function called "Open to LAN". Minecraft (in the serverlist) binds a UDP port and listens for connections to 224.0.2.60:4445 (Yes, that is the actual IP, no matter in what network you are or what your local IP Address is)" ....... client side, bind a UDP socket and listen for connections. You can use a MulticastSocket for that.
I tried to implement this in Python in the following way:

By the way, sending packets to that port works, and the fake server shows up on the Minecraft app.
You cannot bind to a multicast address like that. It is somewhat more involved.
I recommend to read this article that explains all the details of using multicast with Python.

Python: Socket.error Connection Refused in Unix [Errno 111]

I spent some time looking into this discussion but I still not sure what to modify. Any suggestions please ?
You have multiple problems here. First, by using connect on the server end, you're telling the operating system that you will only be communicating with IP address "192.168.67.42" port 5000. That is probably not what you intended. (A server usually talks to whatever client wants to talk to it.)
Second, by not specifying SOCK_DGRAM in your client, you're getting the default socket type, which is SOCK_STREAM. That means your client is trying to connect to your server on TCP port 80 -- not UDP port 80 (the two namespaces are totally separate).
For a UDP "session", both sides need an IP address and a port number. If you do not bind a port specifically, the operating system will choose one for you quasi-randomly. In order to link up client and server, they must agree on at least one of those.
So a typical UDP server will bind to a well-known port (presumably you intended 5000 for that purpose). Then the client can connect to the server at that port. The code would look something like this (sans error handling):

The client is close to what you have, but you should send some data from the client to the server first so that the server knows your address:

Note that because you have used connect on the client side, you've permanently specified your peer's address and don't need to use recvfrom and sendto.
On the client side, this is wrong:

for receiving UDP packets, you need to create a UDP socket, same as you did on the server side:
s = socket(AF_INET, SOCK_DGRAM)
Also, if you want your client to be able to receive UDP packets you will need to bind() it to port 5000 (connect() is neither necessary nor sufficient for that).

Issue with receiving response from 127.0.0.1 with udp client in python

I'm working through the book 'Black Hat Python' and am having issues with a UDP connection to 127.0.0.1 on port 80. I'm fairly new to this stuff so it's not something I can simply just sit down and troubleshoot quickly and efficiently, so I was hoping someone may be able to point out an error or maybe it's just my setup. I am testing this in Kali VM with VMware Fusion. The socket stays open and waits for a response, but never receives one.

Your architecture of having a client and a server exist in the same thread is very unusual. I would not recommend it.
Nevertheless, your program will work the way you want if you .bind() the socket to the target address:
