When migrating my site to python anywhere it breaks the image links.
I have the image in /home/michael/python/tango_with_django_project/static
It works on the dev. server on my linux box, but when I migrate it to "python anywhere it breaks the image file.
Also I cannot view /static/ on either server.

I have just installed Django-cms and it works fine, but the problem is that the system only shows child pages and for parent pages a standard 404 error comes up... Preview works fine both for parent and child pages, but when I publish both of them, a 404 error is displayed for parent page.. It is strange, I have absolutely no idea why this happens. I did everything according to the introductory tutorial. Please see the screenshot:
Edit: I tried to reinstall the CMS at the problem still exists... "cms check" command line attribute shows no errors.. :|

Strange indeed. Here's a couple of things to try/explore:
You have USE_I18N turned on, but you're not using the LanguageCookieMiddleware (disabled), and you're not using the i18n_patterns in your urls conf. Consider setting USE_i18N = False to see if that helps.
I also notice that none of your pages are in the navigation. This means that you're typing in the URLs manually to see if they 404 or not. Consider putting them in the navigation, then check the URL provided by the menu templatetag to see if, perhaps, the intended URLs are different than you expected.
Let me know here what you discover.

Solved. I added the 500.html to the project and it redirects to admin:index. That's the problem

i am using django 1.4 when i am trying to use {{STATIC_URL}} in template

STATIC_URL won't be added to the template context unless you add django.core.context_processors.static to TEMPLATE_CONTEXT_PROCESSORS. So, you can do that, or you can alternatively use the template tag instead (Django 1.4+ only):

There's a difference between deplouying static files in production or development environments.
As far as I can see you're probably in a development environment, so you should add the static files dirs to the STATICFILES_DIR settings variable.
Or if your static files are located in the root of your django applicaiton add 'django.template.loaders.app_directories.Loader' to the TEMPLATE_LOADERS settings variable.

I'm currently experimenting with setting up an Django app with apache + mod_wsgi for the app and using nginx for the static files. I had the app working and now wanted to add authentication, so to control serving static files.
I can still load my index.html, but when I try login or admin I get an ImportError "No module named auth".
I have checked and it's in the settings and in the template login. I don't know what the problem is, maybe anyone has an idea what might be wrong.

I already searched for everything I could, but this annoying error is still there. The admin interface (localhost:8000/admin/) works fine, but no one else. Obs.: Im using Apress - Practical Django Projects (2nd edition) to learn Django. I'll post my code here so somebody can tell what I did wrong. Thanks!

PS: Everything is idented correctly. So if there are some identation mistakes, it's because I did the copy/paste real quick.
You should not include flatpages in your url conf.

That's probably why you're getting the error... as flatpages practically match any URL.
Normally flatpages work via the flatpage fallback middleware that will attempt to locate a flatpage IF no other urls match.
Another cause of problem is not putting the correct SITE_ID number in settings.py
You can find the correct site id for 127.0.0.1:8000 (assuming you use the default port) by inspecting the table django_flatpage_sites in your database. The site id will be found in the column site_id.
Updating the SITE_ID to that number in settings.py , solved the issue for me.
