why I cannot run bzr explorer - python

I have python as seen in
which python
and also
➜ ~ brew install qt
Warning: qt-4.8.6 already installed
➜ ~ brew install pyqt
Warning: pyqt-4.10.4 already installed
but then I try to run on my OSX:
➜ ~ bzr explorer
and gets this error:
invalid syntax (<string>, line 1)
Unable to load u'bzr-explorer' in u'/Users/me/.bazaar/plugins' as a plugin because the file path isn't a valid module name; try renaming it to u'explorer'.
bzr: ERROR: No module named PyQt4
You may need to install this Python library separately.

Looks like your Bazaar Explorer plugin is installed in /Users/me/.bazaar/plugins/bzr-explorer. Rename that directory to /Users/me/.bazaar/plugins/explorer and then it should work. (As the error message was trying to tell you.)
Btw, I recommend using the dmg file from the official website (http://wiki.bazaar.canonical.com/MacOSXDownloads). Bazaar Explorer is included in it and should work out of the box.

Unable to move the Stable Diffusion pipeline to my M1 MacBook

I am following the steps stated here: How to use Stable Diffusion in Apple Silicon (M1/M2).
At my local MacBook M1 machine, I saved the below script in stable-diffusion.py file:

Now when I am trying to execute: python stable-diffusion.py from Terminal, I am getting following error:

In order to fix it even I tried: pip install diffusers, however I still got same error.

Installing Python on RHEL6.9 - No Internet, No Yum, No Pip

I have a super barebones airgapped machine.
It has the Python3.6.6.tar.gz from the website. It has no access to outside sources. It has no ability to use yum or pip as they're not on here.
What is the best method for getting Python3.6 installed onto here without having to transfer files over?

I've tried changing export PYTHONHOME to /usr/local/ with no luck, though that did clear up a previous error related to it

How to fix "No module named 'encodings'"

Before today, I only had a Python37-32 directory when it comes to python. I had to install python 2.7 for something, and now everything has broken.
After downloading the latest python release and clicking "update current installation" (or something along these lines), I was expecting I would have my old python back. However, I am now missing all of my imports. When trying to reinstall them with py -m pip install <package>, I ran into this:
Fatal Python error: initfsencoding: unable to load the file system codec
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'encodings'
Whenever I typed "py" into my VScode terminal (and normal command prompt), I would get this error. What have I accidentally done to mess up everything?
I didn't "fix" my problem
I decided I should uninstall both Python2.7 and Python3.7, then reinstall the latest version. I have. It's working fine now, albeit I will need to reinstall many packages!

Where did my python module install to?

I'm running python 3.6 via anaconda 3, using Visual Studio Code.
I followed instructions like these (Interactive Brokers API install) and downloaded the package to a local directory of mine say: c:\dev\pyib, so now the code is in c:\dev\pyib\IbPy-master
I open that directory in command line and run
python setup.py install
All runs ok.
But then my program, which is in c:\dev\pyib says Module not found. (In my case ibapi). The linter is also showing red.
There is no other python installed on this pc.
Where did the package install to? and how do I check that? What will I find where the package installed itself to that shows me its there?
Or do I have to use a trial-and-error with the linter and sys.path.append()? (I tried that with the directory where the files are downloaded to - to no avail)
I'm trying to set up the PYTHONPATH using the "env" in launch.json from Visual Studio Code, as shown in this unaccepted answer.

I deleted the ib directory and re-ran the install. The last line says: Writing C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Continuum\anaconda3\Lib\site-pac‌​kages\IbPy2-0.8.0-py‌​3.6.egg-info So is the location of the egg-info the location of my undetected module? The actual folder in the site-packages is called ib.
Or could my problems be because of a difference in Lib vs. lib with the lowercase in the sys.path and the uppercase in the actual directory?
But the real question here is still: HOW DO I KNOW WHERE the package was installed what should I search for?
This answer is specific for anaconda3 Python and packages installed using python setup.py install (which is actually using distutils)
Take a look at anaconda3\Lib\site-packages you should see a directory for the package you installed.
The way to know for sure where your package is, is by doing a pip list then trying to pip uninstall and re-install again using the python setup.py install: Here are the detailed instructions:
When uninstalling, pip will tell you it cannot because it was done via distutils.
You'll get a message like this:
DEPRECATION: Uninstalling a distutils installed project (ibpy2) has been deprecated and will be removed in a future version.
This is due to the fact that uninstalling a distutils project will only partially uninstall the project.
You'll be prompted to continue anyway. If you choose No, then you can find the directory in
C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Local\Continuum\anaconda3\Lib\site-packages

Some more information:
The problem I had was due to a stupid mistake of mine. I was running setup of a different (but related) package not used anymore. IbPy2 instead of TwsAPI. I was supposed to run the setup.py of the package installed via the latest version of the MSI from IB, and NOT the IbPy2 package. :-(

How do I solve the issue "No module name Botan"

I am using windows 8 and python 3.6.1 I've done the following command in my cmd:
pip install cryptoshop
However, when I run the following python code:

Now, I obviously know that you must install botan into python in order to use it. However, this is where I am running into an issue. I've downloaded Botan from this link as instructed:

And then I've followed these instructions in an attempt to install Botan:
./configure.py [--prefix=/some/directory]
make
make install
However, when I type make into the command line I get an error saying there is no such command. And then when I go to run my above Python code I still get the no module Botan error. So obviously I am doing something run. How can I properly install Botan into my Python 3.6 directories so that I can use cryptoshop.
I've also attempted to do pip install Botan, as that is how I've installed so many other python libraries but that has been unsuccessful as well.
make is a linux command
According to the botan website you can use nmake as a replacement on windows ( http://wiki.c2.com/?UsingNmake ) :
On Windows
You need to have a copy of Python installed, and have both Python and
your chosen compiler in your path. Open a command shell (or the SDK
shell), and run:
$ python configure.py --cc=msvc (or --cc=gcc for MinGW) [--cpu=CPU]
$ nmake
$ botan-test.exe
$ nmake install
Botan supports the nmake replacement Jom which enables you to run
multiple build jobs in parallel.

For completeness, here's how I made it work on a Mac
Assuming you have brew installed.
brew install botan
You may need to install other functionality first:
brew install gmp
brew install mpfr
brew install mpc
Find out where botan got installed with brew info botan.
My location is /usr/local/Cellar/botan/2.6.0
In that folder, you'll find lib/python2.7/site-packages, copy the contents of this folder into your Python's installation site-packages folder.
Note 1: At the time of this writing, only python 2.7 seems to be supported, but I'm using python 3.6 and everything seems to be working.
Note 2: If the file is called botan2.py, you may need to rename it to botan.py in your python's site-packages folder.
