I've installed the requests module for Python3 on my system, and appears to have installed completely fine. When I run a script involving use of said package on PyCham using Python3 interpreter, it runs without a problem. However, when executed outside this environment, this error pops up:
ImportError: no module named requests
This happens despite PATH containing Python34, which invokes correctly when call via cmd, and me double checking the installation via pip. Is there any possible area you could point me to that could resolve this problem?

Maybe you have two Pythons installed. One is used by PyCharm (and it has requests) and second is used in cmd. Beside pip can be part of Python used by PyCharm not Python used in cmd.

Hi i'm recently working on a module in python (package named pykiwoom)
I installed a module in conda 32-bit environment pip install pykiwoom and tried to import this
from pykiwoom.kiwoom import Kiwoom
This works perfectly fine when I execute this in python console in pycharm

I think where you install your package is important in your case. You can check the packages installed using pip list in terminal, and check if you find it there.
This solution provides overview of how to setup your files as packages and modules.
Nevertheless, I think if you install your package in the terminal using pip, you could possibly access it.
I'm having a problem with importing modules in python.
When I run my program in the command line it works perfectly fine.
However, when I try to run the same program in the python shell I am prompted with the following error:
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'matplotlib'
I already successfully installed matplotlib using 'python -m pip install matplotlib'.
I've read this can happen when you have two different versions of python installed; however, I don't.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled python and I still am having the same issue. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled matplotlib using pip.
I believe my problem is the module paths that python uses to search for imported modules are different between the two.
When I use the 'print(sys.path)' command in the python shell and the command line I get two different outputs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

You have two versions of python. I would recommend you to remove all pythons you have and go for anaconda https://www.anaconda.com/distribution/. It will fix your path problems and allow you to create environments with different versions of python. This is the least painful way also for future :) good luck.
I suppose, you have both of the Python versions installed on the same computer.
If that is so, then my answer would be to go inside both Python script folders and install matplotlib on both of them.
I have also faced that issue. My path includes pip of Python 3.7.1 and whenevwer I try to import modules on Python 3.4. It throws an error!
Maybe, you could add both of the Pythons to the path.
I encountered this same problem – python -c "import sklearn" would work just fine, but import sklearn inside a Python program failed. Both my one-liner and program was using the same Python version (version 3.8.10).
I eventually got the program to work by replacing the shebang line (originally #!/usr/bin/python) with #!/bin/env python.
I don't know why this worked exactly (sorry). Presumably some path got reset, and the module loaded from a different location, but it might help someone so I'm posting it here nontheless. (If you know more, feel free to edit this answer.)
I recently installed the opencv package using pip install and I wrote a small code to test it (cvtest.py). The code runs through the python idle shell but running it though the command prompt gives the error

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both python and the package. looking up the system path using python -m site gives these results. I am the only user of my laptop.

update: the problem is happening with all the py files I am having whether they require imports or not. apparently python is looking for _init_.py for all the files as if they are packages. Any idea what is going on?

Removing the .py suffix on the python -m command fixes this problem, it appears -m only requires module names whereas running it directly as a python file (no -m option) requires the .py suffix
In your case python -m cvtest should be sufficient.
From IDLE, I tried to run a script with a newly installed scrapy 1.0.3.
I'm using a script from a friend whom it worked for (but on Windows, I'm on a Mac).
From the import of scrapy on the first line, I get this error when running the program:
ImportError: No module named twisted.persisted.styles

Just try to force the update of twisted :
pip install twisted --upgrade
That works for me with python3.4 and Scrapy==1.1.0rc1
Either twisted is installed on your mac (I highly doubt it since it's not a standard library) and for whatever reason the IDE (i'm assuming that's what you mean since you typed "idle") or the terminal you are in doesn't have your updated environment variables, meaning it doesn't understand where your default python libraries are (again I highly doubt it), or you simple do not have twisted installed on your mac. If it's not installed you have a couple of options:
The easiest way to install a python package is through pip.
If that not an option you can try homebrew which is another package manager for macs. It offers an easy way to install packages correctly.
If that still is not an option for you or you simply don't want to attempt that you can download twisted directly from here (the .bz2 since you're on a mac), click on it and it should unzip it for you. Then just run setup.py and it should install it in the correct location on your mac.
If that still doesn't work and you have decent knowledge of unix. Use the "locate" command on the terminal and find out where your dist-packages directory is and put the source for twisted in there directly and then attempt to import twisted in your IDE or in the python interpreter to verify that it is installed.
note: If you're still having problems after it is installed trying restarting your IDE or messing with some setting to make sure your IDE has the right environment and python path. Hope that helps!
It could be related to having installed Python without bzip2. I had the same error and this helped me, see the accepted answer here:

Had this exact thing on FreeBSD. Solution (as root/sudo):
chmod -R go+rX /usr/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages
Some directory permissions weren't set up right on install.
I am trying to install and run PyRAF and the stsci_python (http://www.stsci.edu/institute/software_hardware/pyraf/stsci_python) distribution on my RHEL desktop. I follow the installation instructions and the packages install without incident. However, calling "import pyraf" at the python prompt returns the ImportError "No module named tools" (referring to the attempted call "from stsci.tools import capable"); calling "import stsci.tools" at the python prompt yields the same error. yet the installed package (stsci.tools-3.2.2-py2.7.egg/) is manifestly inside a "site-packages" directory that is on my Python Path.
I've struggled with installs, paths, and re-installs for a month on this -- any insight would be extremely welcome.
Answering my own question: I had installed PyRAF and stsci_pythion via the Ureka package, which creates an alias "ur_setup" corresponding to " eval /home/ianc/.ureka/ur_setup -csh !* ". When I call ur_setup in a terminal, I can then directly call pyraf, or start python and import stsci.tools, without problems. So: merely adding a call to "ur_setup" in my .cshrc seems to fix the problem.
