For some reason, when I'm trying to update one cell using the Google Spreadsheets API in Python, like so:

I get this error:
AttributeError: 'SpreadsheetsClient' object has no attribute 'update_cell'
Even though in the source code for client.py, update_cell is very clearly a method for the SpreadsheetsClient class: https://code.google.com/p/gdata-python-client/source/browse/src/gdata/spreadsheets/client.py
This cell has something in it, if that makes any difference. But that's not where the error is coming from. I just have no idea why this isn't working. Maybe something to do with different versions of the API?
What am I not seeing?
Figured it out! Turns out the source code was updated with the update_cell method but the gdata downloads were never given this method for some reason. You have to go to the source code and copy the method over to your own copy of gdata, or use this workaround: https://gist.github.com/egor83/4634422

I got this code from an example that was running on kfp 0.2.5. This is probably some version problem but does anyone knows how to update this code to the newer version?
I solved the issue. It is something that #Kabilan Mohanraj also mentioned is his comment. It looks like there is a bug if you don't set up uri_search_template when creating the ComponentStore.
I solved it by providing it as parameter, it doesn't really matter what you pass to the constructor really, but it is required because in the code there is the following
if self.url_search_prefixes:
but if you don't pass something that attribute doesn't get created in the constructor.
I fixed it like this:
component_store = kfp.components.ComponentStore(
local_search_paths=["local_search_path"], url_search_prefixes=[COMPONENT_URL_SEARCH_PREFIX]), uri_search_template="{name}/"
I hope it will help someone in the future.
I suggested in the github issue to address this by either make the error more clear or to have better check on uri_search_template attribute.
I have a Flyte task function like this:

Trying to load a blob URI using flytekit.sdk.types.Types.Blob.fetch, but getting this error:
ERROR:flytekit: Exception when executing No temporary file system is present. Either call this method from within the context of a task or surround with a 'with LocalTestFileSystem():' block. Or specify a path when calling this function. Note: Cleanup is not automatic when a path is specified.
I can confirm I can load blobs using with LocalTestFileSystem(), in tests, but when actually trying to run a workflow, I'm not sure why I'm getting this error, as the function that calls blob-processing is decorated with #task so it's definitely a Flyte Task. I also confirmed that the task node exists on the Flyte web console.
What path is the error referencing and how do I call this function appropriately?

Could you please give a bit more information about the code? This is flytekit version 0.15.x? I'm a bit confused since that version shouldn't have the #task decorator. It should only have #python_task which is an older API. If you want to use the new python native typing API you should install flytekit==0.17.0 instead.
Also, could you point to the documentation you're looking at? We've updated the docs a fair amount recently, maybe there's some confusion around that. These are the examples worth looking at. There's also two new Python classes, FlyteFile and FlyteDirectory that have replaced the Blob class in flytekit (though that remains what the IDL type is called).

I'm a Python beginner and am attempting to do some automation in CATIA (Dassault Systemes CAD pacakge) with it, but I've run into an issue that I've been unable to solve despite searching extensively for a solution.

Note that I used makepy to early bind the COM object otherwise Python doesn't recognize it (returns COMObject [unknown]), but from what I understand that shouldn't impact the script behavior.
I haven't been able to troubleshoot the error successfully because everything I can find suggests the object should have the attribute SetFormatPrecision. I've tried a bunch of other attributes that it should have as well, and none of them work. Because I'm trying to operate on a COM object, I'm not aware of a way to get a comprehensive list of legal attributes, or a way to get any information on the type of object I have stored in aDimValue
I inspected the makepy output file and it does include a function definition for SetFormatPrecision so my guess is I have a syntax issue, but I'm at a loss for what it is.
I know it's a narrowly focused question, but I'm hoping somebody with knowledge of CATIA Object Libraries sees this. And although I don't expect it, if somebody wants to go the extra mile, there's documentation on CATIAs Object Libraries here:

aDim.GetValue returns the function object, rather than calling the function. Use aDim.GetValue(). Same with sel.Clear() on the last line.
I am currently trying to make a python app do the same thing as a VB app.
The app retrieves an image from an external device over the COM API. I've used win32com and managed to use the Dispatch mechanism to talk with the COM API.
In the VB app, the image is stored like this
pictureData = objResult.Properties('ResultImage')
myImage = AxHost.GetPictureFromIPicture(pictureData)
In my Python app, however on the picture data member, I get PyIUnknown object type. How do I get the image data out of this 'unknown' object?
Let me add that for other 'basic' data like strings, I can see them fine over the Python app.
I found a method that works, maybe not perfect, but if someone Google's this question, I hope it helps.

Questions I still have in my mind are:
are we only forced to interact with IPicture or any non-defined COM (by win32com) in a dynamic way? Is there an elegant way to extend the definitions of interfaces etc.?
I tried using QueryInterface(pythontypes.IID('{7BF80980-BF32-101A-8BBB-00AA00300CAB}'). I got this IID from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms680761(v=vs.85).aspx however I got an error within Python that this interface cannot be handled.
Not sure why I cannot use the methods defined for IPicture, but I could access the attributes?

I've launched previously OpenOffice on "accept" mode to be able to connect from an external program. Apparently, should be as easy as:

I've read that there are where a bug doing the same, but on OpenOffice 3.0 (I'm using OpenOffice 3.1 over Red Hat5.3). I've tried to use the workaround stated here, but they don't seems to be working.

It has been a long time since I did anything with PyUNO, but looking at the code that worked last time I ran it back in '06, I did my load document like this:

Your example is a simplified version, and I'm not sure if you've removed the extra arguments intentionally or not intentionally.
If loadComponentFromURL isn't there, then the API has changed or there's something else wrong, I've read through your code and it looks like you're doing all the same things I have.
I don't believe that the dir() of the methods on the desktop object will be useful, as I think there's a __getattr__ method being used to proxy through the requests, and all the methods you've printed out are utility methods used for the stand-in object for the com.sun.star.frame.Desktop.
I think perhaps the failure could be that there's no method named loadComponentFromURL that has exactly 1 argument. Perhaps giving the 4 argument version will result in the method being found and used. This could simply be an impedance mismatch between Python and Java, where Java has call-signature method overloading.
