When I compile pyQt on Windows 7 it returns an error saying:

ImportError: No module named sipconfig
I have configured sip but the error still occurs. Can anyone help?
The same happened to me on OSX.
As #Janne Karila suggested, you need to download and build SIP first.
In the extracted sip source folder issue these commands in a terminal:
python configure.py
make
sudo make install
After that (in case it succeeds) you should be able to build PyQt in his folder using the same 3 commands.
When building sip, try using sudo so you can write the files to the /System directory:
sudo python configure.py
sudo make
sudo make install
I had same issue, then looked at the install directories and noticed files where not there, so I used sudo and successfully built it. Got PyQt built as well.
After downloading the sip from here download. Extract the sip folder in the PyQt4 folder
cd sip-version
python configure.py
make
make install
From the same location and it will compile and save to C:\Python folder

For some odd reason no matter which package I install when I go to import it doesn't know what package I'm talking about. I am very certain this is a Visual Studio Code error but if not I am also using Linux.
When I pip install the package pyttsx3 this is what I get in the Terminal:

You can use an virtual environment to install your libs. If you do that, each project will have its own scoped libs without affect your global libs.
How to use the virtual environment?
Enter the root folder of your project and then run the following commands on the bash:
$ py -m venv .env
$ source .env/Scripts/activate
After that you'll notice your bash will have a prefix like that (.env). Then you should install your libs:
(.env) $ pip install pyttsx3
In order to deactivate the virtual environment just run the following command:
(.env) $ deactivate
Setup VS Code Intellisense for Virtual Environment
If you're using VSCode you can set the correct python interpreter after setting up a virtual environment. Just follow the steps:
Open VSCode in your project
Press F1
Type: > python: select interpreter
Click on Enter path or find an existing interpreter
Click on Find
The navigate to .env > Scripts > python
3 possible cases:
The same thing happened to me when I did not notice I was using two Pythons at the same time one 2.7 and another one 3.6. Make sure to know where is your package being installed to the Python modules folder you really want to store it or in another one you did not know existed.
Your PATH might not be configured correctly, check out either if you are using Windows or Linux if your PATH variables are configured correctly. You can reset your configuration if you wish. (link= How to reload .bashrc settings without logging out and back in again?)
For some packages/libraries of Python the way of importing the library is different from the name you import it on your .py file. For example: You can install OpenCV library by [pip install OpenCV] but when importing it in a file you have to write [import cv2].

I am trying to run OpenCV with PyPy, I tried everything to make it work, but so far I couldn't. Tried downloading opencv-python from its github repository (https://github.com/skvark/opencv-python) and then running setup.py myself, but it gives me this error:

When I try the following on linux, I get nice cmake output. Perhaps you do not have cmake installed and on your path?

1- install with pip:
a- make sure yourself that python directory has write permission
b- open cmd in administrative permission
c- run the command pip install opencv-contrib-python
2- install through whl files, search for python binary files and

Now, I obviously know that you must install botan into python in order to use it. However, this is where I am running into an issue. I've downloaded Botan from this link as instructed:

And then I've followed these instructions in an attempt to install Botan:
./configure.py [--prefix=/some/directory]
make
make install
However, when I type make into the command line I get an error saying there is no such command. And then when I go to run my above Python code I still get the no module Botan error. So obviously I am doing something run. How can I properly install Botan into my Python 3.6 directories so that I can use cryptoshop.
I've also attempted to do pip install Botan, as that is how I've installed so many other python libraries but that has been unsuccessful as well.
make is a linux command
According to the botan website you can use nmake as a replacement on windows ( http://wiki.c2.com/?UsingNmake ) :
On Windows
You need to have a copy of Python installed, and have both Python and
your chosen compiler in your path. Open a command shell (or the SDK

$ python configure.py --cc=msvc (or --cc=gcc for MinGW) [--cpu=CPU]
$ nmake

For completeness, here's how I made it work on a Mac
Assuming you have brew installed.
brew install botan
You may need to install other functionality first:
brew install gmp
brew install mpfr
brew install mpc
Find out where botan got installed with brew info botan.
My location is /usr/local/Cellar/botan/2.6.0
In that folder, you'll find lib/python2.7/site-packages, copy the contents of this folder into your Python's installation site-packages folder.
Note 1: At the time of this writing, only python 2.7 seems to be supported, but I'm using python 3.6 and everything seems to be working.
Note 2: If the file is called botan2.py, you may need to rename it to botan.py in your python's site-packages folder.
I am unable to import the sqlite3 module in Python, version 3.5.0. Here's what I get:

I know, I know, there are PLENTY of StackOverflow posts and support forums across the web where people complain about this problem, but none of the posted solutions have worked for me so far. Here's where I've been:
I also have Python 2.6.6 installed on this server, which is running CentOS 6.8 x86_64. I can open up the Python REPL and import sqlite3 just fine when using Python 2.6.6. I can also use sqlite3 from straight from bash and nothing seems awry.
This helpful question looked promising. I tried to re-configure and re-compile Python3.5 with the --enable-loadable-sqlite-extensions option, as user jammyWolf suggested. Nope, same error still occurs.
I've been using virtual environments like a good boy, but I have root access to this server. So, I was a bad boy and ran python3 as root without any virtualenvs activated. Still no luck. So I don't think it has anything to do with permissions.
I noticed that in the error message, it says No module named '_sqlite3'. This thread suggests that the underscore before the module name means that the module is an implementation detail, and isn't exposed in the API. ... I'm not sure what to make of this information, but there may be a hint somewhere in there.
Any ideas?
Falsetru is correct, I am going to go into a bit more detail for those not familiar (linux instructions). If you are getting this error, chances are you are using a version of python that was compiled without the correct headers. Here's a step by step guide to get it sorted. (Python 3.X.X instructions)
Install the required sqlite libraries
sudo apt-get install libsqlite3-dev
Uninstall python (I'm using python 3.6.5 as an example in this guide)
sudo apt-get remove python3.6
Download python from source
cd /tmp && wget https://www.python.org/ftp/python/3.6.5/Python-3.6.5.tgz
Unpack the archive
tar -xvf Python-3.6.5.tgz
Configure
cd Python-3.6.5 && ./configure
Make and install (and go make coffee while you're at it)
make && sudo make install
If you did everything correctly running "python3.6 -V" should give you your python version. Note you will have to rebuild any virtual environments you have as well.
One final caveat you may encounter.
zipimport.ZipImportError: can't decompress data; zlib not available
This happens if you don't have the following zlib library installed:
sudo apt-get install zlib1g-dev
Install sqlite-devel package which includes header, library that is required to build sqlite3 extension.
yum install sqlite-devel
NOTE: Python does not include sqlite3 library itself, but an extension module (wrapper).
I copied sqlite3.dll to this folder:
C:\Users\*****\Anaconda3\DLLs
It worked after two weeks trying everything else.
I am trying to export a GeoTiff with Blender using the Blender Python API (based on Python 3), so I've decided to install GDAL on Ubuntu (14.04). What I would like is to get the module as a standalone folder that I could put in the modules directory of Blender (/home/user/.config/blender/2.73/scripts/modules).
The thing is I've run through several different problems trying to install GDAL. I've tried to install from source (for GDAL 2.0.0) here : Official PyPi Gdal
I ran sudo apt-get install libgdal-dev gdal-bin (I list it here because it may be important)
When I am in the extracted GDAL folder, using python setup.py build & python setup.py install, the library installs to /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/osgeo. However, when I run python from command line, running from osgeo import osr returns ImportError: No module named _gdal
Following GDAL via pip , I used pip (pip install GDAL) to install the library, and the folder it went to was /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/osgeo (using pip show ...). Again, running python3 and trying to import results in the same error. Of course, when I copy-paste each folder in the blender module directory, I get the same error in the Blender Python console.
So I decided to compile the sources using ./configure --with-python & make & make install in the source folder. I then copied the folder GDAL-x.x.x/build/lib.linux-x86_64-3.4/osgeo to the blender modules directory and got this time the error when importing : ImportError: /home/yvesu/.config/blender/2.73/scripts/modules/osgeo/_gdal.so: undefined symbol: _Py_ZeroStruct.
Trying to compile with python3 using python3 setup.py build returns the error error: command 'x86_64-linux-gnu-gcc' failed with exit status 1
EDIT 1:
I think I've found the solution : I went to the directory swig/python (not found in a GDAL-1.11.0 folder but gdal-1.11.0 fodler, can't remember where I downloaded it from), ran python3 setup.py build & python3 setup.py install and could finally find the folder in /usr/local/lib/python3.4/dist-packages/GDAL-1.11.0-py3.4-linux-x86_64.egg/osgeo. When I put this osgeo folder oni the Blender modules directory, I was able to import osgeo in Blender. I will report if anything went wrong.
I think I've listed all my attempts at installing GDAL on Ubuntu. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Do you think it is even possible to install it as a standalone module, or do I need linked libraries through LD_LIBRARY_PATH?
Here is the solution I've found :
Download Gdal sources (v2.0.0 is the current stable release) from ftp://ftp.remotesensing.org/gdal/2.0.0/ or http://download.osgeo.org/gdal/2.0.0/ and untar
Go to the directory gdal2.0.0/swig/python
Run python3 setup.py build & python3 setup.py install
Finally find the module folder in, on Ubuntu : /usr/local/lib/python3.4/dist-packages/GDAL-2.0.0-py3.4-linux-x86_64.egg/osgeo
I can now use it in Blender (copying in the modules directory)
