How to make a high quality screenshot in Python - python

I have this Python function and it works well taking a regular screenshot.
I would like to be able to take the screenshot in high resolution. Could this code be modified to accomplish this, or would I need to integrate with another library?

2 solutions for you: either you try another module like MSS (easy, efficient and creates high quality PNG pictures), either you change the code of the function SaveJPEG:

Python on Visual Studio Error

Can somebody help me identify the error here? I am using Python on Visual Studio, and I have copied the code from another source. When I paste the code into a playground like Ideone.com, the program runs without issue. Only when I paste into visual studio do I get an error. The error is in the last two lines of code that begin with "print". This is probably a huge noob question, but I am a beginner. Help!

In visual studio and most other editors, they are updated to the most recent python, also meaning that you have to place parentheses after the print statement.
For example:
print("hello")
Visual Studio runs Python 3.x.x, so, you have to write the print sentences on this way:
print('String to print')
Because in Python 3 print is a function, not a reserved word like in Python 2.

Variable within a Variable in Python (3)

My head is probably in the wrong place with this, but I want to put a variable within a variable.
My goal for this script is to compare current versions of clients software with current software versions that are available from the vendor. At this stage I just want to print out what's available.
I have some def's setup with:

You can put your functions into a dictionary:
per_version = {
'83': v83,
'82': v82,
}
and simply use that to map string to function:
per_version[program_main]('program_1')
However, you may want to instead parameterise your version functions; make one function that takes the version as a parameter:
def program_check(version, program_1=None, program_2=None, program_3=None):

which then looks up default values per program_x parameter based no the version, again from a dictionary perhaps.

updating tkinter window (Python 3.4)

I've been working on a contact-book program for a school project. I've got all of the underlying code complete. However I've decided to take it one step further and implement a basic interface. I am trying to display all of the contacts using the code snippet below:

The program works, however every contact opens in a new window. I would like to display all of the same information in a single loop. I'm fairly new to tkinter and I apologize if the code is confusing at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
First of all, the top of the snippet could be much more efficient:
phonebook_data= open(data_path,mode='r',encoding = 'utf8') should be changed to
phonebook_data = open(data_path).
Afterwards, just use:

Now for your graphics issue. Firstly, you should consider whether or not you really need a graphical interface for this application. If so:

Considering how much I have shown you, it would probably be considered cheating for you to use it. Do some more research into the code though, it didn't seem like the algorithm would work in the first place.

How do I gather performance metrics for GDI and user Objects using python

Think this is my first question I have asked on here normally find all the answers I need (so thanks in advance)
ok my problem I have written a python program that will in threads monitor a process and output the results to a csv file for later. This code is working great I am using win32pdhutil for the counters and WMI, Win32_PerfRawData_PerfProc_Process for the CPU %time. I have now been asked to monitor a WPF application and specifically monitor User objects and GDI objects.
This is where I have a problem, it is that i can't seem to find any python support for gathering metrics on these two counters. these two counters are easily available in the task manager I find it odd that there is very little information on these two counters. I am specifically looking at gathering these to see if we have a memory leak, I don't want to install anything else on the system other than python that is already installed. Please can you peeps help with finding a solution.
I am using python 3.3.1, this will be running on a windows platform (mainly win7 and win8)

Generating consecutive bitmaps with wxPython trouble

Well, while I don't consider myself an experienced programmer, especially when it comes to multimedia applications, I had to do this image viewer sort of a program that displays images fullscreen, and the images change when the users press <- or -> arrows.
The general idea was to make a listbox where all the images contained in a certain folder (imgs) are shown, and when someone does double click or hits RETURN a new, fullscreen frame is generated containing, at first, the image selected in the listbox but after the user hits the arrows the images change in conecutive order, just like in a regular image viewer.
At the beginning, when the first 15 - 20 images are generated, everything goes well, after that, although the program still works an intermediary, very unpleasant and highly unwanted, effect appears between image generations, where basically some images that got generated previously are displayed quickly on the screen and after this the right, consecutive image appears. On the first apparitions the effect is barelly noticeble, but after a while it takes longer and longer between generations.

The catch is I'm trying to do an autorun presentation for a DVD with lots of images on it. Anyway it's not necessarely to make the above piece of code work properly if there are any other options. I've already tried to use windows image viewer, but strangely enough it doesn't recognizes relative paths and when I do this

it opens the images only when my program is on the hard disk, if it's on a CD / image drive it doesn't do anything.
There's an image viewer included with the wxPython demo package. I also wrote a really simple one here. Either one should help you in your journey. I suspect that you're not reusing your panels/frames and instead you're seeing old ones that were never properly destroyed.
