I am trying to migrate a MySQL db into Django. I created a simple database when I followed a tutorial, but now I am trying to migrate my actual db into the project. I modified settings.py to look like this (changed the databases section):

My error:
mysql_exceptions.OperationalError: (2005, "Unknown MySQL server host 'mysql://dev-backend.cluster-xxx.us-east-1.rds.amazonaws.com:3306' (74)")
Where the heck is it getting dev-backend.cluster as the database from?
My migrate command:
python manage.py makemigrations
python manage.py migrate
Check for settings downstream of that DATABASES assignment. A common pattern in Django projects is a layout like this:
# In settings.py, declare all the base values
DATABASES = { ... }
INSTALLED_APPS = [ ... ]
# Import other settings based on environment
if os.environ.get("environ") != "production":
from .devel import *
For better or worse this pattern or variations thereof are commonplace. You likely have an import under a conditional later in the file.
I also encountered the same problem.
if yyyy-backend.cluster-cwtxulgbsb88.us-east-1.rds.amazonaws.com is
correct?? can name resolve?
You might want to use its
IP address for connecting instead.
Because Usually the case when name resolving doesn't work on the host.

I need the template to be found by the view and rendered to the poll, where it is currently showing the error. I have added the tutorial I followed, image with issue page, folder structure, and views page. If you need anything else, let me know and I will provide the information

Based off of most tutorial and guides you would just set the path and run py manage.py collectstatic
and then it would work, but wasn't the case for me. I also got the normal static files to load but not the django admin.
My directory looks something like this: /home/username/main/Projectroot
and in the python anywhere i put the url as "static" and root as /home/username/main/static.
If im missing anymore info please let me know, i would love to deploy my project and get over this simple but annoying part, thank you!
disclaimer: I am no pro
Since you are using a virtual env, the admin files are located where you installed django, you can confirm it by running python manage.py findstatic admin/js/core.js.
check out django static files doc to see more.
A hack I used(dev server) was to copy this files into my base /static/admin folder.
I am trying to create message app with a database model using Django framework using pycharm with apache-cassandra as a database. When I try to run

Probably you've already figured it out.
The answer is that Cassandra does not have to migrate, but sync_cassandra.
Try:
python manage.py sync_cassandra
connection with this settings works for CRUD methods but is incompatible for admin panel and authenticaion.if there is some way by which i can make connection with MongoDB like our regular POSTGRES,SQLITE eg with engine and port numbers in DATABASE Varibale in Settings.py file . Please Suggest
