A python repository on GitHub is trying to import HTML but I can't find any module with this name (in all upper case).
Statement in question: https://github.com/Wi-FiTestSuite/Wi-FiTestSuite-UCC/blob/master/python/myutils.py#L29
The closest one I could find is this module: https://pypi.python.org/pypi/html but after installing that the import statement still doesn't work, because of the case mismatch right? So have I overlooked the correct way to resolve this dependency or do I need to raise an issue with the developers?

Whenever I try to import the libraries "beautifulsoup" or "requests" I always get the same error. The error I get looks like this... ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'bs4'. I already have these libraries installed I just can't seem to figure out what's wrong.
If you look at the image below, I noticed when I use the recommended interpreter I get a problem saying "Import "bs4" could not be resolved from source". However, when I select one of the other Python 3.10.7 interpreters the problem goes away(see second picture). Either way I still get the Module not found error. I was thinking this info might help diagnose the problem I'm having.
I think you need to cross check environmental variable path of python and editor interpreter path
so, may be possible you downloaded that library but it available on another path for that he can't reach out and you get error
This problem occurs when I run Django.I guss it related with kms-client-sdk==0.1.5
You probably miss package or use wrong package (or packages) version.
Read changelogs and try to find the issue (also I recommend using GitHub issues section).
I think also you should post your exact error trace, because that gives possibility to find the certain broken library.
I'm using Python.NET to create wrapper for iText.net (https://github.com/itext/itext7-dotnet).
The dll is named itext.kernel.dll and the python script is in the samne folder of all the itext dlls.
With Jetbrain dotPeek I see that itext.kernel has various namespaces; the namespace iText.Kernel.Pdf is what I need, in particular the public class PdfReader.
Here's what I'm doing (from the docs on https://pythonnet.github.io/):
import clr
clr.AddReference('itext.kernel')
sys.path.append(os.getcwd()) # the script is currently in the dll folder
from iText.Kernel.Pdf import PdfReader
But this gets me a "ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'iText'" error.
I can't understand what it's wrong, can someone point me to the right direction? Thanks.
edit: I can import and use iTextSharp just fine, it seems iText7 has something different.
Well, long story short I really wanted this to work... and solved my issue!
I tried using older builds, and I found out that build 7.0.8 worked fine.
I compared it with build 7.1.11 (the one I was having problems with) using dotPeek, and noticed it has some references, namely BouncyCastle.Crypto, Common.Logging and Common.Logging.Core.
I did put them in the project folder, but still no dice... until I noticed I was using BouncyCastle.Crypto build 1.8.6, while the itext.kernel referred build 1.8.5! Replacing with that version solved the issue.
Basically the newer builds of iText7 have 3 referenced libs, that must be present in the exact same version (at least to be imoported by pythonnet).
I hope this can help someone that has issues similar to mine.
I import vtt_to_srt converter.I read the instructions.I make the installation.From beginning to this "no problem" but when I import it as manuals describe python can't find the module there.
Installation
pip install vtt_to_srt3
Usage
from vtt_to_srt import vtt_to_srt
path = '/path/to/file.vtt'
vtt_to_srt(path)
Error
ImportError: cannot import name 'vtt_to_srt' from 'vtt_to_srt'
I am a rookie.Sorry for asking this question.
#SakuraFreak's answer was my immediate thought, too, but I ended up investigating this a bit further. It seems like vtt_to_srt stores all its API in the __main__.py file of the module. This file should normally be used when you want to a module using python -m.
This actually makes the module impossible to use the way that the documentation specifies. What I tried, then was:
from vtt_to_srt.__main__ import vtt_to_srt
print(vtt_to_srt)
This results in:
<function vtt_to_srt at 0x000002A0948216A8>
So it seems like this workaround is OK.
I do not know if storing all the module's code in __main__.py is some convention not supported by my version of Python (CPython 3.7.3 on Windows), or if it simply an error. Maybe you should approach the module's owners with this.
Because you're trying to import a function from the module which doesn't exist.
the correct way for this module is:
import vtt_to_srt
I'm fairly new to python, but can't seem to get my head around this error - have found posts with similar issues, but none of the responses have helped.
I'm running Python 3.4.0 and have installed a module called lxml.
I wrote some code which starts
from lxml import html
This runs perfectly well from the python.exe interface, and the module can be used to succesfully import and parse XML.
However, if I save the script as a *.py file, and try to call it from a cmd.exe prompt, I get the ImportError: No module named lxml error.
Python is within C:\Python34, and the relevant module is located in C:\Python34\Lib\site-packages\lxml, which contains the required __init__.py
file.
I've checked sys.path which, amongst others, holds C:\\Python34\\lib\\site-packages
The double-backslashes and lowercase 'l' in 'lib' shouldn't make a difference, should it? All listed paths appear to have double-backslashes instead of single.
I did attempt to add the path with an uppercase 'L' using
sys.path.insert(1, 'C:\Python34\Lib\site-packages')
which subsequently appeared as a seperate path, however did not resolve the issue.
Additionally, I replaced the first line of my script with
import sys
sys.path.append('C:\Python34\Lib\site-packages')
which appeared to attempt to read the required __init__.py file (progress!!!), but then gave the following error: ImportError: Module use of python34.dll conflicts with this version of Python, so I probably won't pursue this avenue, unless it is of relevance.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong with regards to ImportError: No module named lxml?
